Steps for making a homemade Christmas Wreath

  1. Start by working your clippings into small bunches of material. Strip the ends of your clippings to make wire wrapping easier
  2. Secure your wire to the hoop by wrapping it around a few times
  3. Add your base greenery. Work your clipping bunches in one at at time. Alternate your bunches by wrapping some away from the loop, and some towards the inside of the loop. Working back and forth in this way helps the wreathe become fluffy and filled out.
  4. Once you’ve added your greenery, add in your accents.
  5. For the final decoration, secure a ribbon with a bow to hang your wreath.

Tips for your Homemade Christmas Wreath

Tip #1 : Experiment with different types of greenery

Using different types of greenery will help to create some visual interest in your wreath. Try using greenery pieces that are contrasting both in color and texture.

Tip #2: Get creative with your decorations

Adding lots of little decorations are what pull the wreath together and give it personality.

Some great decorations include:

  • Dried citrus
  • Holly
  • Ornaments
  • Pine cones
  • Glitter

Tip #3: Admire your wreath from all angles

As you decorate your wreath, take some time to step back and inspect your wreath. How does it look on the sides compared to the front? You may find areas where you can fill in more gaps or add more decorations.
